13 ETSIAAB researchers, among the most influential in the world

They are more than 19% of the total of 67 UPM researchers in an eminent Stanford University ranking of the most cited researchers in the world.

A total of 13 researchers from 'Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica, Alimentaria y de Biosistemas' (ETSIAAB) have recently been ranked among ‘World's Top 2% Scientists List’, the annual ranking listed by Stanford University, with data from Elsevier classifying the most cited researchers worldwide in all disciplines. This figure represents 19.40% of the total of 67 researchers from the 'Universidad Politécnica de Madrid' (UPM) that emerge on this list.

Stanford University discloses the top 2% of scientists with more citations worldwide once a year, with data provided by Elsevier. The study analyses researchers from around the world through the Scopus database, ranking them in 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. The ranking examines indicators considering scientific production in different periods, the H-index, citations and co-authorship position.



We can find some ETSIAAB researchers in this list of the most influential and cited researchers worldwide, classified by fields and subfields of knowledge. Specifically, within the field of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry Sciences; Santiago Benito and Antonio Morata (subfield of Food Science); Juan Carlos de Blas, Gonzalo González Mateos and Miguel Ángel Toro (Animal Science), and Miguel Quemada, Alberto Sanz Cobeña and Antonio Vallejo (Agronomy & Agriculture). Furthermore, in the Biology field, Antonio Molina (Plant Biology & Botany); and Fernando García-Arenal (Virology) in the Bioengineering field. Besides, in the field of Environmental Sciences and Engineering: Luis Lassaletta (Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences) and Gabriel Gascó (Environmental Sciences).
