UPM's agroforestry degrees are among the world's best in their subject category

'QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023' set UPM in the 80th position in the subject of Agriculture and Forestry

The recently launched QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 has ranked universities and disciplines worldwide. UPM's Agroforestry degrees have once again a distinguished position. Concretely they have been ranked in the 80th position among the best universities worldwide in the subject of Agriculture and Forestry (2023).

Every year QS World University Rankings by Subject feature 1.540 institutions helping future students choose the right place to continue their education. Research citations and employer and academic reputation indicators drawn from survey responses are some of the aspects evaluated to rank the different universities, as well as the H-index, which measures the productivity and impact of an academic or department at a university. This year's rankings cover 54 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas: Arts & Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management.



UPM – The best Spanish university in Engineering and Technology

The UPM has risen to the 55th position of the best universities in the world in Engineering and Technology, according to QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. In addition, if we consider previous years, the UPM has improved its position. It was ranked 58th (2022), 75th (2021) and 90th (2020).

In addition, UPM has become the leader among Spanish universities by setting three of its disciplines among the top 40 in the world and a total of four among the top 100. UPM's degrees in Architecture/Built Environment, Engineering-Mineral & Mining and Engineering-Civil & Structural are in the 26th, 35th and 38th positions.

UPM's degrees in Engineering-Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing are ranked 75th. UPM's degrees in Engineering-Electrical & Electronic are ranked 78th. UPM's degrees in Computer Science & Information Systems are ranked 118th. UPM's degrees in Art & Design are ranked among the top 150 in the world.

Finally, this international ranking also emphasises the UPM's academic efforts in its degrees in Material Science, Mathematics and Environmental Sciences, which are placed in position 151-200; Engineering-Chemical 201-250; Biological Sciences 351-400; Social Sciences and Management 401-450; and Chemistry 501-550.
