Goals The PhD program in Agroengineering covers a society demand that asks for specialists and researchers qualified in rural and environmental engineering projects, sustainable rural development, agricultural sustainable construction, energy supply and alternative sources of energy, efficient water management and response to change climate, precision/digital agriculture, mechanization, biomechatronics, automatic and robotics, sensors and control.

It deepens into the scientific basis of the processes and technologies associated with Agroengineering, in order to train doctoral students within the topics of the research groups that make up the doctorate. It is developed in the more advanced laboratories and facilities provided by the UPM.

The Mention for Excellence constitutes recognition to the scientific-technical and training solvency of this Program, as well as the groups that develop it.

The permanent teaching staff is made up of 30 professors from the University and PhDs from companies and institutions with long experience.

Doctoral students have the possibility of publishing in the best scientific journals in the area: Biosystems Engineering, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Food Engineering, Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Transactions of the ASABE, among others.
